Share a route with the right access
Choose between a saved journey link and a standalone planner link.
Share a saved journey
- Open a saved journey from My Journeys.
- Check its Public / Private setting.
- Use Copy on the detail page, or Route actions → Copy link in My Journeys.
- Send the link using your preferred messaging app.
A public saved journey can be viewed by anyone. A private saved journey still requires access; copying its link does not grant permission. To give a person access to a private saved route, invite them as a collaborator.
Share the current planner result
After calculating a mapped route, select Share Route. Copy the generated link or choose one of the sharing options shown.
The standalone link includes addresses, stop notes, travel mode, and selected route settings. Anyone with the link can open those details without access to your account. The link is separate from a saved journey’s privacy setting.
Check the stops and notes before sending it. Making a saved journey private or deleting it will not revoke a standalone link that already contains those details. For sensitive itineraries, use a private saved journey with invited collaborators instead.
What the recipient can do
A standalone link opens a route preview where the recipient can review the stops and calculate directions. Changing that preview does not edit the sender’s saved journey.
Sharing buttons prepare a link in another service; the message is not sent until you complete that service’s sending step. If copying fails, select the displayed link and copy it manually.
